Our Mission
The institute is an interface between business and cognitive science research.
The Carnot Cognition Institute
The Carnot Cognition Institute acts as an interface between companies of all sizes and the 21 research laboratories and nearly 2,000 researchers it federates.
Its mission is to facilitate the connection between companies with development and R&D projects that benefit from cognitive technologies for their services and products.
Its Carnot label guarantees access to the best cognition research, ensuring innovation, competitiveness, and growth.

In today's socio-economic context, numerous industrial sectors are developing increasingly innovative technologies. However, these new systems involve complex cognitive abilities, and their technologies and services are not necessarily adapted to human cognitive capacities.
This is where cognitive science research comes in, aiming to study brain function and human abilities such as perception, action, communication, understanding, learning, and interaction through a broad interdisciplinary approach :

Cognitive technologies (human-system or human-human interaction), which engage or modify cognitive functions, enhance the added value of products and services in an increasingly adaptive use context :
- considering the individual user
- their environment
- the modes of interaction at play

Governance
The Carnot Cognition Institute is structured around several bodies that define its actions and work towards its development:
- Operational Bureau (BO): Composed of the Institute's director, Célestin Sedogbo, and five delegates - one per pole, who ensure the Institute's decision-making management.
- Operational Team: Manages daily operations and coordinates various projects under the guidance of the Operational Bureau.
- Steering Committee (CoDir): Gathers representatives from supervisory bodies and ensures the link with the ANR, the Association of Carnot Institutes, and the CNRS, ensuring the Institute's alignment with the national public/private research development dynamic.
- Restricted Steering Committee (CoDir-R): The operational body of CoDir, managing and controlling CoDir's decisions.
- Scientific and Strategic Orientation Committee (COSS): Ensures that laboratories' scientific approaches and companies' needs are well aligned. Composed of three SMEs, two large groups, and six scientists.
- Pilot Committee (CoPil): Brings together the directors of the 22 cognition research laboratories, ensuring perfect cooperation among laboratories for projects.
- Axis Organization Committee (COAX): Consists of axis leaders, ensuring the scientific management of the ICC.
- Established to develop and promote collaborative research and technology transfer between public research and companies in the field of cognitive sciences, the Carnot Cognition Institute operates nationwide.
- To develop high-performance and competitive products and services, we believe in the importance of the human factor.
- We provide a comprehensive range of expertise across all sectors, regardless of the type of company (start-up, SMEs, medium-sized enterprises, large groups).
Carnot Cognition Institute Network of Correspondents: Ensures information relay between laboratories and the Institute, composed of Carnot correspondents and Contacts for Communication, Management, and SPV-Legal Valorization for each laboratory.
